MONTH OF THE ROSARY
October is the month of the Rosary. The Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes before each mass during October. We encourage everyone to pray the Rosary with your family.

The second collection is for the Propagation of the Faith. Thank you.
THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES
are every Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Please bring your children on time. The last day of registration will be next Saturday, October 29th. Please bring the child’s baptismal certificate.
The parents and guardians of the First Communion students will have a meeting next Saturday, October 29th at 10:30 a.m. Please come and be on time.THE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEMBERS

YARD & FOOD SALE
Bethlehem House Homeless Shelter will hold a Yard & Food Sale from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday October 29th and 30th at the Bethlehem House Shelter facility, 23AA Kingshill, just before the Herbert Grigg House. New and used clothing from 50 cents up will be on sale. Menu will include various soups, fried chicken and johnny cake. Support the Homeless!
SEEKING VOLUNTEERS

The Fifteen Promises of Mary to Christians Who Recite the Rosary
1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the rosary, shall receive signal graces.2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the rosary.
3. The rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the heart of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the rosary, shall not perish.
6. Whoever shall recite the rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.
9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the rosary.
10. The faithful children of the rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the rosary.
12. All those who propagate the holy rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death.
14. All who recite the rosary are my son, and brothers of my only son Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion of my rosary is a great sign of predestination.

CATEQUESIS
Las clases de catecismo son todos los sábdos de 9 a 11 de la mañana. Favor de traer a sus niños a tiempo. La matrícula para las clases de Catecismo son los sábados, el último día para matricular a tu niño/a será el sábado 29 de octubre. Traigan el certificado de bautismo de su niño/a cuando vengan.
Los padres y tutores de los niños de la Primera Comunión tendrán una reunión el próximo sábado 29 de octubre a las 10:30 a.m. Se les pide que sean puntuales.
COMITE DE FINANZAS
Los miembros del Comité de Finanzas tendrán una reunión el próximo martes 25 de octubre a las 5:30 p.m. Favor de ser puntuales.

LA MEDITACION DEL SANTO ROSARIO
Cuando uno/a se adentra en un templo católico puede, quedar sorprendido o decepcionado por el rezo reiterativo de una devoción, antigua e importante en la piedad popular, como es el Santo Rosario.
Prescindiendo de sus connotaciones históricas -que las tiene- podríamos preguntarnos: ¿qué sentido tiene en estos tiempos? ¿Tiene vigencia aquí y ahora?
Para explicar el sentido, primero y último, de esta devoción, podíamos decir lo siguiente: Cuando nos encontramos frente a una persona a la que queremos, en la conversación, suelen salir "los momentos del ayer". Es decir: lo que fue en antaño -para bien o para mal- su vida.
El iniciar el rezo del Santo Rosario, para cogerle gusto y sacar provecho abundante, debiera ser para nosotros un recordar las mejores estampas, gozosas, dolorosas, luminosas y triunfantes de los acontecimientos en los que estuvo cerca María.
Al rezar con los Misterios Gozosos le decimos: recordamos María el día en el que tu corazón, se engrandeció para Dios o el momento en que, siendo decidida, te lanzaste camino de Ein Karem para visitar a tu prima Santa Isabel con la noticia de la Encarnación. ¡Cómo no recordar y decirte Ave María! al volar nuestro pensamiento hacia aquel día en que fuiste Madre en Belén. ¡Cómo no decir Ave María ante la emoción, que para ti supondría, presentar al Niño en el templo o, incluso, la satisfacción de verlo y recuperarlo en el templo cuando tú lo dabas por perdido. ¡Como no decirte 50 veces ¡Ave María! en estos momentos de Gozo para ti Madre de Dios!
Al desgranar los Misterios Dolorosos....nos solidarizamos contigo Santa María Madre Dios. Te decimos que te queremos, aún subiendo hasta tu memoria momentos históricos en la Pasión de Jesús. ¡Qué cerca andarías de Getsemaní! ¡Cómo volverías los ojos ante un Hijo azotado y burlado¡ ¡Cómo no recordar aquel instante, en que estoy seguro, hubieras querido ser golondrina para quitar espinas a aquella corona!¡Cómo no irías, de esquina en esquina, para contemplar impotente el paso pesado de la Cruz¡. Virgen María; ¡cómo no ser solidarios y recordarte aquella hora de soledad y de fidelidad al pie de la Cruz¡¡¡.
Incluso, con estas estampas y misterios dolorosos......te decimos que somos solidarios contigo. Si se quiere a una madre en los momentos de gozo, ¡cómo no apreciarla y dirigirle nuestro cariño en otros aunque sean de prueba!. Con 50 Ave Marías te decimos que el dolor se hace más llevadero con la fe y la oración.
